Here’s How We Came to ‘Bee’
Our journey began in August of 2011 when co-owners Adrian and Cheryl Pylat founded Tronovus, an HVAC and plumbing company based in Sparwood, British Columbia. Though this was our first business venture, Adrian had been working in the industry since 1998 and is a second-generation HVAC professional.
It wasn’t long before Tronovus took off and began serving the mining industry, which has been the lifeblood of the Elk Valley for generations. We were fortunate enough to find great success with Tronovus from a business standpoint.
And yet, something was missing…and that something was a premier residential HVAC company in the area.
While we did serve homeowners under Tronovus, we struggled to balance the residential side with the commercial side. In our mission to cast a wide net and serve everyone, we found ourselves falling short of what we vowed to be for our customers. It certainly wasn’t for lack of trying; but working to win commercial business while honoring all of our residential appointments was a constant struggle. At the end of the day, we just weren’t meeting the high standards we had set for ourselves when we first started the business.
That’s when we decided to make a drastic and permanent change. Knowing that our true strength had always been residential work, we decided to simplify our business structure and do more of what we do best.
Returning Home to Happy Hive
After deciding to focus solely on residential services, we needed a new name and brand that matched our mission. That’s how the hive was formed—and it’s been generating buzz ever since!
We are proud to fill a void in the area and be the residential provider that the hardworking families of Cranbrook, Kimberley and The Elk Valley deserve. Combining more than 40 years of industry experience with the warmth and comfort of our family brand, we find more fulfillment and satisfaction in our work than ever before. We’re thrilled to continue making a difference in our local community and helping people live happier, healthier lives in their hives!
